“Where Death Fears to Tread!”

In "Where Death Fears to Tread!", the Justice League of America joins forces with the Justice Society of America to confront the enigmatic threat of Aquarius. As Alan Scott's Green Lantern energy and Fate's mystical power begin to falter within a collapsing bubble, Aquarius intervenes—only to seize control of the two heroes. With the JLA and JSA locked in battle, a rising energy surge from Starman's rod threatens to destroy Black Canary, trapped by Green Arrow's adhesive shaft. When her husband Larry breaks free from Aquarius's hold, he makes a final, selfless stand to save her. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated by Dick Dillin, with inks by Sid Greene and lettering by Sid Greene, the issue's dynamic cover by Neal Adams captures the escalating tension.
