“Crisis Times Three!”

Marking the 20th annual Justice League/Justice Society team-up, this 1982 milestone kicks off "Crisis on Earth-Prime!" — a three-part crossover that also brings in the All-Star Squadron. George Pérez's cover says it all: a sprawling two-team brawl fills the central image, with Green Lantern and The Flash trading blows against their counterparts while Superman, Power Girl, Zatanna, Hawkman, and a dozen more heroes clash in a beautifully chaotic melee. Surrounding the action, portrait headshots of Aquaman, Firestorm, Dr. Fate, The Huntress, Starman, Firebrand, Johnny Quick, Liberty Belle, Robotman, Steel, and others make clear just how massive this gathering of DC's finest truly is.

As the JLA is about to greet the JSA via the transmatter machine they use to travel between Earth-One and Earth-Two, they're suddenly surprised by the appearance of the Crime Syndicate, who they believed were still in their limbo prison. The JLA then travel to Earth-Two to investigate what happened to their friends. There they find the world was taken over by Per Degaton in 1942. They then travel back in time alongside their JSA allies (freed from the Syndicate's prison) to 1942 where they meet the All-Stars in the JSA's original headquarters.
