About this Collection

This opening volume of the Batman by Tom King collection kicks off King's acclaimed 85-issue run on the main Batman title, beginning with the 'I Am Gotham' story arc. Alongside artists David Finch and Mikel Janín, the book introduces the super-powered duo Gotham and Gotham Girl while exploring Bruce Wayne's emotional landscape after the events of DC Rebirth. It also features the debut of the mysterious new villain known as the Monster Men and sets the stage for Batman's evolving relationship with Catwoman.

In "Batman Rebirth," Tom King teams with David Finch, Danny Miki, and Jordie Bellaire to launch a bold new chapter in Gotham’s mythos. When Gotham and Gotham Girl prevent a bridge collapse, their actions draw Batman into a mystery tied to a past robbery that shaped their vigilante paths—leading them to Strange and Psycho-Pirate at the scene of a sudden explosion. Mikel Janín’s striking cover captures the moment’s tension, setting the stage for a story where legacy and justice collide.
