Who is Rocket Red?

Rocket Red is a member of the Soviet Union's Rocket Red Brigade, a team of armored soldiers operating under the Russian government. When the Justice League expanded into Europe, a Rocket Red joined the newly formed Justice League Europe as its Soviet representative.

Few characters capture the spirit of late-Cold War superhero comics quite like Rocket Red, who burst onto the scene in Justice League Europe #1 in 1989, courtesy of the legendary creative team of Keith Giffen, J. M. DeMatteis, and Bart Sears. A distinctly DC creation of the Copper Age, this armored figure became a colorful fixture of the Justice League's international expansion, sharing adventures with heavy-hitters like The Flash, Metamorpho, and The Elongated Man across the pages of both Justice League Europe and Justice League America. The character's presence stretching from 1989 all the way to 2011 speaks to a lasting charm that kept readers invested across more than two decades of DC storytelling. For collectors who love that era of globe-trotting, personality-driven superhero comics, Rocket Red is a wonderfully evocative piece of the puzzle.
