☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freePart of DC's Dollar Comics line in 1979, this jam-packed issue of Adventure Comics promises four all-new features headlined by Flash, Deadman, Aquaman, and the JSA. Jim Aparo's cover captures the chaos vividly: Aquaman and a green-costumed Mera recoil from bursting energy blasts, the Flash races into action below them, and in the corner a gun-wielding figure looms as part of the JSA bonus tale teased as "The Man Who Defeated the Justice Society!" Inside, Paul Levitz and Joe Staton deliver "The Cloud with the Lethal Lining!" — with the cover asking whether the Flash can handle the "New" Weather Wizard — alongside a Deadman supernatural suspense saga and Aquaman swimming what the cover boldly calls "the Gauntlet of Death.

As the JSAers go their separate ways after Mr. Terrific's funeral, Power Girl wonders why the team disbanded in 1951 and Huntress relates the story as she heard it. After a case involving their being kidnapped by a man with foreign interests, the JSA was summoned before Congress and their loyalty to their country questioned. Rather than reveal their identities, the heroes disappeared and retired.
