Christopher Hastings
Christopher Hastings is an American comic book writer and artist, best known for creating the long-running webcomic *The Adventures of Dr. McNinja* and for his work on Marvel’s *The Unbelievable GwenPool*. He was born in the United States; his exact birth date is not widely recorded. Hastings began his career in the early 2000s with *Dr. McNinja*, a surreal, action-comedy strip about a ninja who is also a medical doctor, which gained a devoted online following and ran for over a decade. This success led to mainstream comics work, where he became a versatile writer for franchises like *Adventure Time* at KaBoom! Studios and Marvel’s *Vote Loki* and *I Am Groot*. His style blends sharp humor, fast-paced plotting, and a fondness for absurdist concepts, often collaborating with artists like Dan McDaid and Gurihiru. Hastings co-created the character Gwen Poole, a fan-girl transported into the Marvel Universe, whose fourth-wall-breaking antics defined *The Unbelievable GwenPool*. Later, he wrote for *The Six Million Dollar Man* and *Sonjaversal*. Though he has not received major industry awards, his influence is felt in the rise of webcomics as a springboard to mainstream publishing. He remains active in the field, with credits spanning 2011 to 2021.
