In "Prologue" from *Unbelievable Gwenpool* #1, Gwen Poole walks into a bank with a dufflebag full of cash, only to find herself in the middle of a robbery she didn’t expect—though she handles it with her usual mix of chaos and precision. When the dust settles, she’s arrested alongside the team’s hacker, only to be released by a weary officer who just can’t keep up with her brand of absurdity—leaving her and the hacker to drive off in the cop car, still unsure what just happened.
Gwenpool’s day starts with a suit repair at Big Ronnie’s and quickly spirals into a mercenary gig against alien arms dealers—complete with a dramatic helicopter jump and a surprise showdown with a rival mercenary she outsmarts. Back home, relaxing in the tub with her hacker pal Cecil, the peace shatters when Modok crashes through the wall, demanding she join his side after she kills one of his operatives. Her defiant laugh fades fast when he incinerates Cecil, leaving her with no choice but to agree.
