Aaron Sowd
Aaron Sowd was born on November 3, 1970, in the United States. He is best known as an inker and artist whose steady hand helped define the look of numerous superhero titles in the 1990s and 2000s. Sowd began his professional career inking for Top Cow, before moving on to substantial runs at both Marvel Comics and DC Comics. His most prolific work appears on *Weapon Zero*, *Robin*, *Batman*, *X-Men: Age of Apocalypse*, *JLA*, and *Codename: Stryke Force*. Over a career spanning from 1992 to 2021, he has been credited on 94 issues, often collaborating with top-tier writers and pencilers to bring clean, dynamic finishes to their pages. While not a high-profile co-creator of major characters, his consistent inking provided a crucial foundation for the storytelling in these series. In later years, Sowd transitioned into work as an illustrator and storyboard artist, applying his sequential storytelling skills to film and television pre-production. His contributions to the industry remain respected among fans of the era’s superhero comics.
