Who is The Question?

Vic Sage is a tenacious Hub City investigative reporter who dons a unique chemical mask — developed by scientist Aristotle Rodor — that renders his face completely featureless, allowing him to pursue justice as an anonymous, no-nonsense vigilante. Originally a Charlton Comics creation by Steve Ditko, the character was later acquired by DC Comics.

Steve Ditko's The Question burst onto the Silver Age scene in Blue Beetle #1 in 1967, a creation that bore the unmistakable philosophical imprint of its visionary artist — a faceless, enigmatic figure who became one of comics' most compelling and distinctive presences. Emerging from Charlton's bold stable of heroes, The Question has proven remarkably enduring, with a publishing history stretching nearly six decades and five key collector issues that mark genuine milestones in their evolution. Over the years this fascinating character has shared the page with titans like Batman, Bruce Wayne, The Flash, and Blue Beetle, a roster that speaks to how naturally The Question gravitates toward the weightiest corners of the DC universe. Whether in their own dedicated series or the pages of Batman: Gotham Knights, The Question remains a must-know for any serious fan who appreciates comics that dare to ask something deeper.
