Batman holds an unconscious masked woman draped in an American flag cape, her dark hair cascading as a squad of armed, helmeted figures closes in from an industrial scaffolding in the background — it's a tense, cinematic image rendered with Brian Bolland's characteristic precision. The juxtaposition of patriotic imagery against Gotham's gritty industrial backdrop gives this May 2003 issue of Batman: Gotham Knights a striking visual charge. Scott Beatty's "Knight Moves Part Two: Castling" continues what looks to be a high-stakes arc, with interior art by Roger Robinson and inks by John Floyd rounding out a well-crafted package.
