Betty & Veronica (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #13
In "Spring Song," Archie's gang tests the limits of grown-up responsibility when Mr. Weatherbee grants their wish to be treated as mature adults—no homework, free speech in homeroom. But their enthusiasm quickly turns into unexpected effort as they dive into class prep, determined to prove they’re worthy of the trust. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Bill Vigoda, with inks by Terry Szenics, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Terry Szenics, this 1989 Double Digest gem features a cover by Dan DeCarlo and Jim DeCarlo.

When the kids ask to be treated like mature adults, Mr. Weatherbee abolishes homework assignments and lifts the ban on talking in homeroom. The kids find that without homework, they spend more time preparing for their classes because they're so determined to prove that they deserve the "mature" treatment.
