Archie Showcase Digest #19
In "Festive Foul Up," Veronica grapples with holiday gift rivalry when she realizes Archie favors Betty’s modest presents over her own. Determined to outdo her friend, she impulsively buys a diamond-studded platinum knife—meant, of course, for spreading caviar—at La Snobbe Shoppe. The story unfolds as Veronica convinces Betty to swap gifts, setting off a lighthearted holiday mix-up. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo with inks by Rudy Lapick and letters by Bill Yoshida, the issue features a cover by Dan Parent.

Veronica and her dad discuss how Archie always likes Betty's (cheaper) gifts better than Veronica's gift. Veronica is unable to bring herself to buy anything in Betty's price range, and promptly buys a diamond-studded platinum knife ("for spreading caviar") at La Snobbe Shoppe. Veronica then stops by Betty's and convinces her to switch gifts, so she ends up giving Archie the more expensive gift.
