Harpoon
Kodiak Noatak is a mutant of Inuit descent who joined the Marauders, a band of assassins-for-hire assembled by Mister Sinister. Codenamed Harpoon, he wields energy-charged spears with deadly precision, combining his mutant ability to psionically charge projectiles with exceptional hand-to-hand combat skill.
Few characters in the Marvel Universe carry the weight of infamy quite like Harpoon, who burst onto the scene in 1986's Marvel Age Annual #2 courtesy of Roger Stern and the legendary John Buscema. A Copper Age creation, Harpoon has moved through some of Marvel's most consequential mutant storylines across nearly four decades, racking up appearances in Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, and X-Men β the holy trinity of mutant comics β with five of those issues recognized as collector-significant keys. His team affiliations span the Marauders and the Morlocks, placing him squarely in the darker, more morally complex corners of the X-Men's world, where he's kept company with heavy hitters like Wolverine and John Greycrow. For collectors tracing the full, unvarnished history of Marvel's mutant saga, Harpoon is a figure whose presence signals that the stakes just got very, very serious.
