Alanna
Born on the planet Rann to scientist Sardath, Alanna grew up immersed in her world's advanced technology, training under her father to master Rannian science and the Zeta Beam teleportation system that would eventually bring an Earthman named Adam Strange into her life.
Few characters can claim to have been woven into the very fabric of DC's Silver Age from its earliest, most imaginative days, but Alanna made her debut in Showcase #17 in 1958 β right at the heart of that era's boundless sense of cosmic wonder. Created by the legendary trio of Gardner Fox, Edmond Hamilton, and Mike Sekowsky, she emerged into a DC Universe brimming with interplanetary adventure, and her presence across nearly six decades of publishing speaks to just how enduring her place in that mythology has been. Her pages are graced by some of DC's most iconic figures β Adam Strange, Superman, Green Lantern, and Sardath among them β and her appearances across Mystery in Space, Green Lantern, and Hawkman put her at the crossroads of the publisher's grandest Silver Age storytelling. With two key-issue appearances to her name and a run stretching all the way to 2017, Alanna is a character whose roots go deep and whose appeal has never quite faded β a genuine treasure for any collector serious about DC's cosmic heritage.
