Over nearly 150 issues from 1951 to 1965, Horwitz’s Buffalo Bill was a sturdy, long-running Australian comic that brought the Wild West to local newsstands. The series was most often written by Fred Meagher, who also drew many issues alongside Maurice Bramley and Jack Keller, giving it a consistent, rugged visual identity. While not a landmark of innovation, it was a reliable, popular western that kept the spirit of frontier adventure alive for a generation of readers down under.
