X-Men: Fallen Angels #[nn]
In "Runaway," Bobby flees the New Mutants and tries to protect his new friend Chance from a gang, only to have his powers fail him at a critical moment. When Chance abandons him, he's pulled through a mysterious doorway by Ariel—just as Warlock arrives to help, leading the two on a dangerous path that unexpectedly draws them into the Fallen Angels. Written by Jo Duffy and illustrated by Kerry Gammill, with inks by Tom Palmer and colors by Petra Scotese, this 2011 issue captures the raw tension of youth, power, and survival on the streets. The cover, a striking collaboration by Kerry Gammill, Mike Mignola, Al Williamson, and Val Mayerik, sets the tone for a story where identity and allegiance are as unstable as the powers at play.
