Gomi
Gomi is a young cyborg boy enhanced with experimental technology, who becomes the unlikely companion of two cybernetically augmented lobsters, Bill and Don. He joined the ragtag teenage mutant group the Fallen Angels, though he himself possesses no mutant abilities.
Few Marvel characters carry quite the cult charm of Gomi, who first scuttled into readers' hearts in Fallen Angels #2 in 1987, courtesy of Jo Duffy, Kerry Gammill, and Tom Palmer β a Copper Age oddity born from one of Marvel's most delightfully offbeat limited series. Sharing pages with the likes of Warlock, Siryn, and Sunspot, Gomi kept genuinely eclectic company among the Marvel mutant world's more unconventional corners. With appearances stretching all the way to 2023, this quirky figure has proven surprisingly durable for someone with a modest fifteen catalog entries, popping up across Fallen Angels, X-Men: Fallen Angels, and the New Mutants Omnibus. If you love the strange, singular characters that give the Marvel Universe its texture and depth, Gomi is exactly the kind of find that makes digging through back issues so rewarding.
