Moon Boy
A young member of the Small-Folk — a tribe of primitive hominids inhabiting the prehistoric Dinosaur World (Earth-78411) — Moon-Boy formed an extraordinary bond with a mutant red Tyrannosaurus rex after rescuing the creature from enemies, and the two became inseparable companions, surviving their savage world together through loyalty and instinct.
Debuting in the Bronze Age pages of The Flintstones #3 in 1978 under the hand of Sal Buscema, Moon Boy is one of Marvel's more wonderfully unexpected figures — a prehistoric soul who has carved out a surprisingly resilient corner of the Marvel Universe across an impressive 45-year publishing span. With 54 catalog appearances and three collector-recognized key issues to his name, he's far more than a curiosity, turning up in series as varied as Heroes for Hire, Fallen Angels, and Skaar: King of the Savage Land and sharing pages with titans like Ben Grimm, Thor, Steve Rogers, and Warlock. If you love Marvel's wilder, more primal corners — the savage, the strange, the endearingly tenacious — Moon Boy is absolutely worth tracking down.
