Thor the Mighty Avenger #3

Chris Samnee's cover for issue #3 of this 2010 series tells you everything you need to know: Thor, red cape billowing and Mjolnir raised in a crackling energy blur, stands defiantly against an enormous blue giant hand reaching down from a rocky mountain landscape. The title "Here Be Giants" delivers on that promise immediately — the scale between the Thunder God and his titanic adversary is genuinely thrilling to take in. Roger Landgridge and Samnee's Thor: The Mighty Avenger was one of 2010's most warmly crafted takes on the Asgardian, and this issue looks like a fine example of why.
