Thor the Mighty Avenger #2

There's something genuinely charming about this cover from Chris Samnee — Thor, winged helmet and Mjolnir raised, strides through an ordinary city street alongside a young woman, the two of them surrounded by curious onlookers and wide-eyed kids, one of whom is holding up a Thor comic book. The warm autumnal palette by colorist Matthew Wilson gives the whole scene a grounded, almost slice-of-life feeling that sets this series apart from your typical thunder-god fare. Roger Langridge, Chris Samnee, and Matthew Wilson were crafting something genuinely warm-hearted with this 2010 run, and this issue's cover makes a welcoming case for it.
