“The Eye of Erlik”

In "The Eye of Erlik," Conan journeys to Zamboula with the scholar Isparana to deliver the mysterious talisman known as the Eye of Erlik to Akter Khan. Along the way, they’re ambushed by the fanatical Yogites and rescued by the enigmatic Shanki, whose princess Derketari has died under strange circumstances. Once in Zamboula, the talisman is handed over—but Akter Khan turns on Conan, imprisoning Isparana and forcing the Cimmerian into a deadly alliance with the exiled nobleman Balad, who seeks to reclaim the throne. Written by Roy Thomas and brought to life with dynamic art by John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga, with a striking cover by Nestor Redondo, this issue blends ancient intrigue and desert peril in a tale that’s as rich in atmosphere as it is in action.
