“Did Someone Say...the Stranger?”

In "Did Someone Say...the Stranger?", the Champions and Black Goliath face off against Stilt-Man in Los Angeles before the mysterious Stranger arrives with a dire warning: the box they’ve found is the Null-Life Bomb, and it’s already activating. As the device swells in size, the Stranger vanishes into it to disarm the threat, teleporting the team to a strange, hostile realm where they’re immediately set upon by Kamo Tharnn and his Beast-Men. Written by Bill Mantlo and illustrated by John Byrne, with inks by Bob Layton and colors by D. Warfield, this pivotal 1977 issue features a striking cover by Dave Cockrum.
