About this Collection

This volume collects the first half of the 1992 'Operation: Galactic Storm' crossover, a sprawling Avengers event that pits Earth's Mightiest Heroes against the Kree and Shi'ar empires in a galaxy-spanning conflict. Featuring issues from multiple Avengers titles of the era, it includes the initial buildup and early battles as the teams grapple with the political and moral complexities of an interstellar war.

In "It Came from Outer Space," the Avengers: Galactic Storm team up with the Starjammers for a high-stakes mission that spirals out of control when Lilandra tasks them with transporting a massive Nega-Portal to the Kree Empire. When Wonder Man and Vision discover the portal is actually a colossal Nega-Bomb, they must convince the Starjammers to abandon it—too late, as the ship vanishes through a star portal, leaving the two heroes stranded on the bomb itself. Written by Gerard Jones and illustrated by Jeff Johnson and J. B. Jones, with inks by Art Nichols and Jan Harpes, colors by Joe Rosas, and letters by Pat Brosseau, the issue's dynamic art and tense pacing are matched by Steve Epting and Tom Palmer’s striking cover.
