“Sometimes It Snows in April”

In "Sometimes It Snows in April," Peter Parker turns to Dr. Strange for help when a sudden blizzard traps New York City—only to receive a cryptic warning about a threat arriving at 4:00 p.m. With time on his hands, Peter juggles a mundane photo assignment from Bennett before rushing to stop a sudden attack by a group of Mayan warriors targeting an innocent man. Spidey and Wolverine team up to subdue the attackers, but their victory brings unexpected complications when the police arrive to arrest Spider-Man. Written by Zeb Wells and illustrated by Chris Bachalo, with inks by Tim Townsend and colors by Antonio Fabela and Bachalo, this 2008 issue blends supernatural tension with grounded character moments. The cover, by Bachalo and Townsend, captures the storm’s eerie stillness just before the chaos begins.

Spidey has Dr. Strange use his awesome mystic powers to predict the weather and tell him when the freak blizzard howling outside will end. Instead, Strange tells him of a looming danger that will show up at 4:00 that afternoon. With a few hours to kill until then, Peter heads to work and gets an annoying assignment from Bennett wherein he must take pics of the snowstorm clean up effort the following morning. At the alloted time, Spidey and Wolverine save a man from a pack of Mayan warriors who are trying to kill him. Spidey wraps the warriors up for the local police, who attempt to arrest him.
