“Where Crawls the Lizard!”

This January 1967 issue drops Spider-Man and the Lizard into a murky tunnel showdown, with Spidey crawling headfirst down a stone archway while the reptilian villain — green-scaled, white-coated, and whip-tailed — tears through a web below him. John Romita's cover work is sharp and atmospheric, capturing the damp, shadowy sewer setting with a real sense of menace. "Where Crawls the Lizard!" promises exactly the kind of wall-crawling, creature-feature confrontation that made Marvel's Silver Age so compelling.
