Savage Dragon #93
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeSavage Dragon #93 is the narrative engine at the heart of the four-part 'Reclaim the Earth' storyline, the sequence in which Erik Larsen brought his years-long CyberFace world-domination arc to a crisis point by staging Dragon's assault on the White House itself. The issue packs in an extraordinary number of in-continuity deaths — HellRazor, Bad Axe, Soundstorm, the Possessor, and EXROE-5 all meet their ends here — making it one of the highest-casualty single chapters in the series' run to that point. Beyond body count, the issue is structurally significant for dramatizing Dragon's morally uncomfortable alliance with Vicious Circle villains, a theme Larsen had been building since CyberFace seized global power, and the issue's White House raid gave the series a rare sense of escalating, world-altering stakes that distinguished Savage Dragon from most of its contemporaries.

The issue was produced entirely by Erik Larsen as writer, penciler, and inker — consistent with his founding commitment to sole creative authorship on the title — with Reuben Rude and Abel Mouton sharing coloring duties and Chris Eliopoulos handling lettering. It also carried two back-up features: a 'Savage Tales' strip written and drawn by Nick Derington with Brian Blake, noted as outside regular continuity, plus Chris Giarrusso's 'Comic Bits' and a 'Savage Dragonbert' strip by Karl H. The issue was cover-dated November 2001 and shipped in early 2002 per Image's release records.
