Savage Dragon #103

The cover itself cheekily announces "Our Most Misleading Cover… Ever!" — and it delivers on that promise with two green, fin-headed figures squaring up against a sea of shadowy threats beneath the bold "If This Be Doomsday!" banner. Erik Larsen renders the larger Dragon front and center with fists raised, while a smaller, similarly green mohawked companion declares "I don't like the look of this…!" — a fun bit of cover copy that makes you wonder exactly what's being set up. Issue #103 is a solid showcase of the irreverent energy that has kept this long-running Image series going strong into 2002.
