New X-Men #151
In the distant future, Tom Skylark and Rover meet with E.V.A. amid the ruins of the Xavier Institute, guarding the Phoenix Egg as they prepare to return it to the X-Men’s base—only for one of the Beast’s Crawlers to steal it in the shadows. Back in the present, Scott stands at Jean’s grave, torn between duty and grief, as Emma pleads with him to reopen the school and stay with her, but he walks away, declaring he’s done with costumes and heroics. Written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Marc Silvestri, with inks by Joe Weems, Billy Tan, Batt, and Eric Basaldua, and colors by Steve Firchow, this is the first chapter of a bold new era for the X-Men, with cover art by Marc Silvestri and Joe Weems.
