“The Film Maker”

In "The Film Maker," Archie’s attempt to impress Veronica takes a series of comedic detours when his plans keep falling apart—first due to lack of cash, then a radio contest win, and finally a string of unexpected expenses. With Harold Smith’s sharp writing and Tim Kennedy’s expressive art bringing the chaos to life, this Double Digest story captures the classic Archie charm as Archie tries to prove he’s more than just excuses. The cover by Jeff Shultz and Jon D'Agostino perfectly captures the lighthearted, mischievous spirit of the issue.

First Archie doesn't have money to take Veronica out so he tells her he will be out of town, then he wins money in a radio contest so he tells her his plans changed. Then Fred wants the money Archie owes him so the date is back off until Archie runs into another windfall. Unfortunately expenses cost him that windfall but Veronica is done with his excuses.
