“The Chase Case”

Archie #302 finds Riverdale's favorite redhead bundled up in winter gear and bursting through the school doors with a big idea for Mr. Weatherbee — as a "Conserve Energy" sign hangs nearby, Archie enthusiastically declares he's figured out how to lower the thermostat and still keep warm. Betty and another student look on in the foreground, while a tiny snowmobile vignette at the top hints at just how Archie plans to beat the cold. Dan DeCarlo's cover art captures that warm, cheerful energy the series does so well, making this 1981 issue a fun snapshot of Archie's well-meaning scheming at its finest.
