Invincible #93
Invincible #93 presents a cover split into two vivid scenes: above, a determined hero in the signature black-and-yellow costume rockets toward the viewer with fists raised, green energy erupting behind him as mechanical enemies and crumbling buildings fill a city under siege; below, a crowd of heroes and armored robots face off in a tense standoff rendered in cool, muted tones. The dual-panel design — penciled and inked by both Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker — gives the issue an unusually epic visual scope, hinting at conflict on multiple fronts simultaneously. Robert Kirkman's series was boldly billing itself "The Best Superhero Comic Book in the Universe!" in 2012, and a cover this kinetic makes it hard to argue otherwise.
