Invincible #26

Invincible finds himself surrounded by an unsettling crowd of blue, insectoid beings in what appears to be an alien cityscape — a striking cover image from Ryan Ottley and Bill Crabtree that radiates both wonder and quiet tension. The lone human figure in his familiar black-and-blue costume, dwarfed by antennae and compound eyes on all sides, makes for a genuinely compelling visual contrast. Robert Kirkman's Wizard Fan Award–winning series was clearly firing on all cylinders in 2005, and this issue looks like a fine example of why.
