Invincible #135

Part three of the twelve-part "End of All Things" arc arrives in Invincible #135, and Ryan Ottley's cover sets a fittingly urgent tone — a fierce female hero in an orange-and-white costume launches a flying kick in the foreground while a snarling, bloodied monster looms behind her, and a crowd of figures, a red-haired woman, a young man, and a massive airship in a hazy sky fill out the battle-worn backdrop. The warm, smoldering palette gives the whole scene a sense of a world under serious pressure, with no shortage of combatants ready to push back. Robert Kirkman's long-running Skybound series was already a dozen issues deep into what the title promises will be nothing less than a final reckoning.
