Invincible #123
There's something quietly compelling about this cover for Invincible #123 — Mark Grayson stands in civilian clothes, eyes downcast, holding what appears to be a small bundle of clothing, while a red-haired woman clutches a young child and looks up at him with concern, all set against a vast alien landscape swarming with military vehicles and spacecraft under a burning orange sky. Ryan Ottley's art beautifully captures the tension between an intimate, almost domestic moment in the foreground and the enormous, chaotic world pressing in from behind. The cover even cheekily warns readers that it's "misleading," which only makes you want to crack it open all the more.
