As Hal and Carol are sharing a private moment, they are interrupted by the members of the Justice League, who want to know what Hal is doing to Coast City and to Guy Gardner, who appears to be rejecting his Vuldarian DNA. John Stewart turns on the League, and to stop him Hal becomes the Spectre. Meanwhile, Guy revives from his coma, is given a duplicate of the ring Ollie has, and becomes a Green Lantern again. Elsewhere, Kilowog confronts Kyle Rayner, seeking the casket in the spaceship, but the casket is guarded by Ganthet, who says Hal Jordan's body is protected by the Guardians themselves.
