Aug 1983 · Marvel · 0.60 USD; 0.75 CAD; 0.25 GBP
“Destro Attacks”

In "Destro Attacks," the G.I. Joe team launches a full-scale assault on Springfield—only to find it a Cobra stronghold, repelled by Destro’s well-entrenched forces. While the Baroness and the Commander struggle to activate Venom’s toxin without its missing catalyst, Snake-eyes, Kwinn, and Venom barely escape a submerged prison, only to fall into Cobra’s grasp. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Mike Vosburg, with inks by Jon D'Agostino and colors by C. Scheele, this 1983 issue delivers tense action and escalating stakes, all under Herb Trimpe’s dynamic cover art.

The Joes figure out that Springfield is a Cobra base and attack in force, only to be repelled by Destro and his men, while the Baroness and the Commander attempt to inject a Cobra agent with Venom's toxin, only to see it fail because it's missing the final catalyst needed to keep it in check. Meanwhile, Snake-eyes, Kwinn and Venom escape from their watery trap only to be captured by Cobra agents.
