Archie's Double Digest Magazine #44
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeArchie's gentlemanly instincts backfire spectacularly on the cover of this 1990 digest, where he gallantly waves a dark-haired young woman through a doorway — only for a workman nearby to tip a wheelbarrow full of wet cement, with a "WET CEMENT" sign conspicuously ignored. Cover pencils by Dan DeCarlo and inks by Jim DeCarlo give the gag that crisp, expressive charm the series does so well. At 256 pages, issue #44 is a generous package of Riverdale comedy at its most cheerfully chaotic.

Archie is wondering how he's going to be able to show Veronica a good time on their date. Then, while raking leaves to earn some money, he finds a change purse filled with money! Overjoyed, he begins planning a great date, barely noticing a woman and her small son who seem to be looking for something. But later, Archie's conscience won't let go and he finally approaches the woman and finds out it was her (desperately needed) money, after all.
