Life with Archie #81

From January 1969, this Archie Series gem captures the gang hitting the snowy slopes with their usual blend of charm and chaos. Dan DeCarlo's cover pencils show Archie wobbling wildly atop a surfboard-turned-ski, scarf flying, while a blonde skier in orange and two dark-haired onlookers exchange quips about his "right direction" — straight toward the First Aid Station sign planted ominously in the snow. It's a perfectly timed winter gag that makes this 12-cent issue an appealing slice of late-'60s Riverdale fun.
