Ox
Raymond Bloch was a brutish street criminal whose exceptional size and natural superhuman strength made him a natural enforcer for hire. Known simply as the Ox, he became a founding member of the Enforcers, a team of thugs-for-hire who repeatedly clashed with Spider-Man.
Few villains can claim they've been making life difficult in the Marvel Universe since the earliest, most electric days of the Silver Age, but Ox has been doing exactly that since Stan Lee and Steve Ditko introduced him in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 back in 1964. A fixture of the street-level criminal world that gives Spider-Man's corner of Marvel its gritty, ground-floor tension, Ox has kept remarkable company over six decades — sharing pages with the likes of Jackson Brice, Montana, Fancy Dan, and even the perpetually aggravated J. Jonah Jameson. With 59 catalog appearances spanning all the way to 2025, three of them recognized as key collector issues, and a presence stretching from the flagship Amazing Spider-Man to the atmospheric Spider-Man Noir, this is a character whose staying power speaks for itself — a true Silver Age original still leaving his mark on Marvel's streets.
