Tom Grindberg (born November 3, 1961) is an American comic book illustrator best known for his work across Marvel, DC, and British comics. He entered the industry in the mid-1980s, with early credits including *2000 A.D. Presents* #16–19 and *Judge Dredd* #10–11 for Fleetway in 1987. Over a career spanning from 1984 to 2019, Grindberg contributed to 147 issues as artist, colorist, or inker. His most frequent assignments were on *Silver Surfer*, *Warlock and the Infinity Watch*, *Star Trek: Deep Space Nine*, *Firestorm the Nuclear Man*, *The Secret Defenders*, and *Armor*. Grindberg’s style, marked by clean linework and a dynamic sense of anatomy, made him a reliable hand for both cosmic superhero sagas and licensed properties. He often collaborated with writers such as Jim Starlin and Ron Marz on Marvel’s cosmic titles. While he did not create any major characters, his steady work helped define the visual identity of several series during the 1990s. Grindberg’s later career included work for smaller publishers and occasional cover assignments. He has not received major industry awards, but his consistent output remains respected among collectors and fans of the era.
