Roger Slifer
Roger Allen Slifer was born on November 11, 1954, in the United States. He is best known as a comic book writer, screenwriter, and television producer who co-created the DC Comics antihero Lobo. Slifer entered the comics industry in the mid-1970s, working as a colorist and letterer before moving into writing. His most prominent comic work includes a run on DC's *Omega Men* in the 1980s, and he also wrote for *Marvel Two-in-One*, *Captain America*, *Power Man*, and *Iron Man*. He collaborated with artist Keith Giffen to bring Lobo to life in *Omega Men* #3. Slifer later transitioned into television, producing and writing for animated series. In 2012, he was severely injured in a hit-and-run collision, which left him in institutional care until his death on March 30, 2015. While he did not receive major industry awards, his co-creation of Lobo remains his most enduring legacy, influencing DC’s cosmic corner for decades.
