Marvel Two-in-One #40

Carnegie Hall has never seen a night quite like this — the cover to Marvel Two-In-One #40 drops the Thing and the Black Panther right onto a concert-hall stage that's already been reduced to scattered instruments, sheet music, and chaos, as the two heroes square off against a hulking, fang-toothed vampire in the middle of the spotlight. Ron Wilson and Pablo Marcos fill the scene with terrific energy, bodies strewn across the foreground and panicked figures reeling in the shadows behind them. "Conjure Night!" promises a team-up with real atmosphere, and this 1978 pairing of T'Challa and Ben Grimm is exactly the kind of unlikely duo the series did best.
