Robert Patrick Webb was born on 29 September 1972 in England. He is best known as one half of the comedy duo Mitchell and Webb, alongside David Mitchell. The pair gained widespread recognition for their work on the Channel 4 sitcom *Peep Show*, where Webb played the hapless Jeremy "Jez" Usbourne, and for the sketch series *That Mitchell and Webb Look*. They also performed a stage adaptation, *The Two Faces of Mitchell and Webb*, and starred together in the 2007 film *Magicians* and the short-lived series *Ambassadors*.

Before partnering with Mitchell, Webb wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed sitcom *The Smoking Room* and appeared in the sketch show *Bruiser*. He later headlined the comedy-drama *Back* from 2017 to 2021. A regular panel show guest, he has appeared on *QI*, *Have I Got News for You*, *Never Mind the Buzzcocks*, and *Mastermind*, among others. His additional sitcom credits include *Blessed*, *The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff*, and *Fresh Meat*. Webb has also hosted and narrated several programmes, cementing his reputation as a versatile comedic performer.
