"Sheena—Queen of the Jungle" battles a vulture and confronts a threat called "Eyrie of the Leopard Birds." A war-themed story involves Nazi intelligence operations, with dialogue concerning Nazi play for neutrality and democratic forces working to counter them, including references to bombing and pursuit of enemy agents. Another adventure story follows a character involved in piracy and island intrigue, where a traitor signals a pirate ship, buccaneers capture passengers as slaves, and a character named Sir Austin is revealed to be the master of an island and threatens to make the protagonist his slave.
Sheena ventures into the hills beyond the village of Kubaa to investigate a mysterious "leopard bird" that has blinded the bracelet maker Loobo, only to be captured by Mangra, a ruthless woman claiming dominion over the jungle. Now bound to a tree and threatened by Mangra's vicious pet, Sheena must find a way to escape before moonrise—or face a terrible fate.
When Jimmy Dundee glimpses a man who looks exactly like his late father—gunned down a year earlier—emerging from a subway station with the glamorous Vera Rourke, he seeks out ghost specialist Drew Murdoch to make sense of the impossible encounter. As Murdoch investigates, he uncovers a deadly scheme hidden behind an embalmer's shop, where nothing is quite what it seems and someone will stop at nothing to keep Jimmy silenced. The real killer is far more cunning than any phantom from the grave.
