Steve Oliff, born February 20, 1954, is an American colorist who has shaped the look of comic books across more than four decades of work. Operating professionally under the studio name Olyoptics, he entered the industry around 1978 and built a reputation as one of the most technically accomplished colorists of his generation.

His catalog spans an impressive range of titles, with credits across 264 issues between 1979 and 2024. Among the works most associated with his name are *Spawn*, *The Maxx*, *Airboy*, *Pitt*, *Cyberforce*, and *Strikeback!* — a body of work that cuts across publishers and genres, from gritty superhero fare to the more stylistically adventurous corners of 1990s independent comics.

Oliff was a pioneer in applying computer coloring techniques to comics at a time when the field was still largely relying on older production methods, and his sophisticated palette work helped define the visual identity of several high-profile series during a transformative era for the medium. His contributions through Olyoptics influenced how color was understood as a storytelling tool rather than simply a finishing step, and his sustained presence in the industry well into the 2020s speaks to his enduring relevance and adaptability.
