Alex Grecian
Alex Grecian was born Alexander Douglas Grecian on August 6, 1969, in the United States. He is best known as the writer of the comic book series *Proof*, a supernatural mystery about a secret government agency tracking cryptids, which he co-created with artist Riley Rossmo. Grecian’s path into comics began in the late 1990s, with early work on *Supernatural Law* and *The Factor*. His signature style blends forensic detail with dark, character-driven storytelling, often exploring historical and occult themes. In addition to *Proof*, he wrote the miniseries *Rasputin* with Rossmo. Grecian also found success as a novelist with his Scotland Yard’s Murder Squad series, beginning with *The Yard*, which earned him nominations for the Strand and Barry Awards for Best First Novel. Later life saw him receive an Inkpot Award in 2018 and multiple Kansas Notable Book Awards for his novels, including *The Yard* and *Red Rabbit*. His work remains admired for its meticulous research and atmospheric tension.
