About this Collection

This volume collects issues #14-18 of the Image series Proof, wrapping up the storyline involving the mysterious cryptozoologist Julia as she confronts the truth about the Bigfoot-like protagonist and the shadowy organization that controls his kind. The arc delves into the origins of Proof's species and the moral complexities of his mission, blending supernatural thriller elements with character-driven drama.

In "Julia," writer Alex Grecian and artist Riley Rossmo deliver a haunting, atmospheric tale centered on the mysterious Proof, who recounts his fractured past with Julia Pastrana to Ginger. Set in 19th century London, the story unfolds through flashbacks of his bond with his brother Mi-Chen-Po and their struggle against the elusive Springheel Jack, all while grappling with a love that was never returned. With haunting visuals by Riley Rossmo and evocative coloring by Dave Casey, the issue culminates in Proof laying Julia’s remains to rest, finding quiet closure in memory. Cover by Riley Rossmo.

After the remains of Julia Pastrana are found, Proof relates his past with her to Ginger, describing how he and his brother Mi-Chen-Po grew apart while battling Springheel Jack in 19th century London. Although Proof loved Julia she spurned him. After dying from childbirth complications, Julia and her child were stuffed and turned into display attractions. Proof lays Julia's remains to rest and finally makes peace with his memories of her.
