This fifth volume of the Proof series collects issues #21-25 of the ongoing Image Comics title. In "Chapter Two: Blue Fairy" from Proof #5, Jo sets out from the Chupacabra’s shelter, guided by the eerie Dover Demon and the enigmatic Colonel Dachshund, on a haunting journey to the Lodge in search of his long-lost father. Drawing on the melancholy echo of Pinocchio’s tale, the story unfolds with quiet dread as Jo confronts the truth of his father’s fate—without ever revealing how that revelation shapes his next step.
In "Chapter Three: Who Killed the Dover Demon?", tensions rise as Proof and Isabella share their first date, unaware of the storm approaching—military forces led by Haven arrive at the Lodge to arrest Leander. While Wayne attempts to begin his hibernation with Joy’s help, a Chupacabra wearing the skin of Gloria Wight appears, triggering a fatal heart attack. Elsewhere, Ginger and Elvis uncover the shredded remains of the Dover Demon, adding another layer to the growing mystery.
In "Faith Is Dead," Jo finds herself caught between eerie revelations and creeping dread as a severed Sasquatch finger surfaces in a chilling display of family secrets. Meanwhile, the fairies Hope and Charity tend to Joy’s wounds, while Elvis and Ginger follow a cryptic lead that shifts the hunt from the Dover Demon to the elusive Mothman—each thread pulling deeper into a mystery that refuses to stay buried.
In "The Expression of Emotions in Man and Animals," Proof confronts a shifting truth at the Lodge, where the line between monster and man blurs. When the Mothman reveals itself as the Dover Demon, and Wayne takes control in Leander’s place, Proof must decide whether to trust the sasquatch finger he’s been given—or walk away from the secrets the Lodge has buried.
