Who is Yolanda Montez?

Yolanda Montez is the goddaughter of the original Wildcat, Ted Grant. Introduced in Infinity, Inc. #16, she eventually assumed the Wildcat identity herself, possessing cat-like agility and retractable claws as a result of genetic experimentation performed on her mother before her birth.

Yolanda Montez made her mark on DC Comics in 1985, bursting onto the scene in the pages of Infinity, Inc. during the rich Bronze Age — a creation of Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, and a very young Todd McFarlane. She moves through some genuinely storied company, sharing adventures with the likes of Green Lantern, Wildcat, Jade, and Jennie-Lynn Hayden across Infinity, Inc., All-Star Squadron, and even Adventures of Superman. With a publishing history that stretches an impressive four decades from 1985 all the way to 2026, she's a character whose presence in the DC universe has proven quietly enduring — and for fans who love that fertile intersection of legacy heroism and Bronze Age storytelling, Yolanda Montez is absolutely worth seeking out.
