Teela
Teela is a fierce warrior and Captain of the Royal Guard of Eternia, introduced in Mattel's Masters of the Universe franchise in 1982. Raised by Man-At-Arms, she fights alongside He-Man to defend Castle Grayskull against the forces of evil.
Few characters can claim a Bronze Age debut that launched a franchise spanning nearly four decades, but Teela does exactly that β stepping onto the page in 1982 courtesy of creators Don Glut and Alfredo Alcala in the thick of one of pop culture's most beloved fantasy universes. Across 39 years of publication, she's kept extraordinary company β sharing adventures with the likes of Skeletor, Man-at-Arms, Prince Adam, and Battle Cat β appearing in titles like Masters of the Universe Annual, The Powers of Grayskull, and DC Comics Presents, with three of her appearances earning key-issue recognition from collectors. With 65 catalog appearances stretching all the way to 2021, Teela is a genuine constant of the Masters of the Universe comics world, a Bronze Age original whose presence threads through the mythology from its earliest days to its modern revival. If you're building out a serious He-Man collection, she's an essential piece of the puzzle.
